The weekend of December 13, we celebrated the Kock Family Christmas at our house!
We were all going to be together there so we could go to the Christmas Pageant at Westside Church here in Omaha, so we decided it would be a good time for us to have our Christmas celebration!
Everyone arrived on Friday evening and we played a few games and watched some basketball and then we all went to bed so we could wake up for our "Christmas morning" the next day!
When we were all up and ready to open presents, we took our traditional Christmas morning pictures in front of the tree.
Then it was time to open presents. We were all spoiled once again!
Even Mattie got a present from her "Grandma". She was very into seeing what was inside that box for her!
She got new bowls that she can keep at "Grandma's" house and use when we visit. Mattie tested out the bowls right away. I think they're a winner! :)
After all the presents were open, it was time for breakfast! We had two kinds of french toast, bacon and sausage, cinnamon rolls, and scrambled eggs. It's one of my favorite meals of the year!
After breakfast was over, we all relaxed for a bit and then got ready to head out to the Christmas pageant.

This was the second year we had gone to the pageant at Westside Church in Omaha. This year's production was called "The Light" and it was based on John 8:12 - "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."
The stage was continuously filled with many cast members signing and dancing. They even had live camels and other animals again this year. The part that touched me the most was seeing the actor who played Jesus walk through the crowd on stage, acting out several of the miracles he performed during his life. Even though it was just a portrayal of what Jesus did, it still moved me to see it acted out and brought tears to my eyes to watch those miracles unfold while the rest of the cast sang At Your Name by Phil Wickham and We Are the Reason. Songs that really touch my heart. It was a great experience again this year!
After the program, we went to take pictures in front of the tree in the lobby like we did last year.
Santa wasn't around this year to take his picture with us, but Jesus was!!
It was then back to the house for supper, a few more pictures, and a couple games before everyone headed home. We chose to have enchiladas and taco salads for our Christmas supper this year!
For one of our presents, my mom and each of us kids were given an etched mug from Doreen and Nick. They bought them at the auction during the CJD Fundraiser we had in November. They have the Ar-We-Va "A" on one side and the fundraiser logo on the other side. I love it and am so thankful that they gifted them to us! So special!
Our family Christmas was an awesome start to the rest of all the Christmas festivities that were to come in the following weeks!
