Two weekends ago, we had one last horrah to celebrate my BFF Lauren's last days of singleness before she gets married this weekend. We spent Friday evening through Sunday afternoon in Okoboji and had an AMAZINGLY AWESOME time!
Lauren, Bailey and I along with Lauren's sister Megan headed up to Okoboji in the early evening on Friday. We would be staying at Lauren's grandparents' cabin for the weekend. We got there a little after 10pm and met up with the other girls that were already there.
Friday evening, we just hung out around the fire and just talked until we all headed for bed to get ready for the fun days ahead.
Saturday morning, we slept in and then had some wonderful breakfast made by a few of the girls who were nice enough to feed the rest of us. It was yummy! It was a very rainy day, so we weren't quite sure what our day would turn out to be like since we had planned on going boating all day. (Figures, we're in a drought and then the one day it decides to rain all day is the day we want to be outside on the lake!)

Lauren's parents were staying over at Village West for the weekend, so we were able to go over there to hang out and sit in the hot tub for the afternoon. Then, before we knew it, it was time to head back home to get ready for our fun-filled night!
The theme for the night was 80s, so we were all prepared with outfits to match.

We all got ready to head out and Lauren opened her bachelorette presents before we left.

We went to Bracco to eat where we enjoyed just being able to hang out for a while and, of course, getting some interesting looks from people. I think most people enjoyed our attire, though! Lauren got to work making some money with her 'Suck for a Buck" bouquet.

After eating, we went out to a few bars for some drinks and dancing. It was so much fun!

been reflecting off the rain drops.
Sad day. |

By the end of the night I think we were all exhausted. It had been such a fun night! Lauren's parents came to pick us up on the boat at the end of the night. It wasn't really ideal boating weather, though. It was cool and there was a bit of a mist to go along with it, so we were all pretty cold and wet by the time we got home.
It felt great to be able to get warm and dry clothes on after we got back!

Sunday shaped up to be a beautiful day. The sun was out and it was warm, so it was a perfect day for boating. A few of the girls had to make their way home while 5 of us stayed and headed out on the lake for some tubing. It was a blast!

Finally, it was time to head home. It sure was a long weekend and we were all pretty exhausted as we started another week, but it was so much fun - it always is when I get to spend a weekend with some of my best friends!
Even though I'm just looking back on the bachelorette party now, we're only 3 days away from the BIG day, the wedding!! I can't wait to celebrate with Lauren and Alex and be a part of their beautiful day! It will be another awesome celebration with even more of our friends!
