The song Pray by Sanctus Real is a song I heard for the first time on the radio a while back and instantly loved. I now listen to it at least once or twice a day while at work and today I really felt like I wanted to share this song.
I don't feel like I have ever been as good of a "pray-er" as I would like to be and I'm sure I don't do it "right" but I don't think God so much cares about that as long as I talk to Him. I pray more now than I ever have before in my life. A lot of times, I don't know what I should pray, and I usually pray about the most random things... but I figure, God knows me pretty well so I'm sure He knows what I'm trying to say. Sometimes they're long, sometimes they're just once sentence, sometimes I'm asking for forgiveness, sometimes I'm thanking God, and sometime I'm asking for His help... and I usually end my prayers by asking God to tell my dad hi. And I'm sure He does for me.
I just wanted to share this song because I think we all get to a place sometimes when we just don't know what to do anymore, but we can remember that God knows our hearts and knows what we need. We can tell him anything and ask him for anything and he will always share the weight of our burdens with us. We don't have to and aren't supposed to try to make it through life on our own, God wants us to lean on Him.
"Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus." - Philippians 4:6-7

LOVE this post! Im sure you are a great pray-er. And you are right because God does not care how we pray or if we are good at it, he just care that we communicate with Him to build our relationship with Him. I love to pray and find myself doing at weird times and random places but it is a life saver (literally!) I heard once that if you are frustrated with traffic that you should pray every time you come to a red light because then you can pray to God and thank Him for placing you at that moment right where you are. Of course this post left me in tears and I'm sure God passes on every word you pray to your dad :) I pray for you often too Kendra :) thank God for the wonderful friend I have and pray that He continues to heal your heart.
