This year, our Easter weekend was once again a busy one, but it was great. It started on Friday when we both had the day off. We had some appointments set up to cross some things off of our to do list and I did a little shopping. It was a beautiful day to be out and about and to not be at work!
In the evening, we attended a really awesome Good Friday service at Christ Community Church. This was the first Good Friday service that I've been to that wasn't at the church I grew up in. It was different but it was so good. I'm so happy that I was able to go and experience it with Trent.
After church, we went and met up with Jocelyn and a bunch of her friends at Roja to celebrate her upcoming birthday. It was another great event to add to the fun weekend. I'm glad that she was in Omaha this year on her birthday so we could celebrate with her!

Then, on Saturday morning, we headed to Westside. I joined a bunch of other ladies to celebrate my cousin Molly's upcoming wedding with a bridal shower in her honor. It was put together by my mom, aunt, and cousin. Everything was great and it was a lot of fun. We played some fun games, had some good food, and Molly received some great presents. She gets married this Saturday, so we'll get to celebrate with her once again, but this is gonna be the real deal!!
After the shower was over, we transitioned right into celebrating Easter together. The guys all showed up and we got Grandpa from the nursing home and then we all ate and hung out.
On Sunday, we went to the Sunrise Service in Westside, where the youth group kids led the service. We also got to stay for the beginning of the regular church service at 9:00, which meant that I got to be there to sing Easter Means with the rest of the "Sunday School alumni." It was fun to be able to sing in the front of the church again as a big kid!
At about 9:45, Trent and I took off for Sioux City to meet his family at his cousin's house. As always, we had amazing food - she never disappoints! After lunch, the girls opened some Easter gifts and had an Easter egg hunt. I love seeing how excited they get every time they would find an egg!! So cute!
After they found all the eggs, they had to check out how many they found and see if they had anything in them. Uncle Trent was there to assist them in counting and seeing how much money and candy they had!

The girls had received some bubbles for Easter, so we had a little bubble blowing session. Jenna loved to blow them and then try to pop them right away. I don't think she's got her technique down quite yet, but she did pretty good. :)
Before everyone took off for home, we took some pictures. A neighbor even came over to take a picture of us all so no one had to be left out. It's so great to have a picture like that since it doesn't happen very often that we can get everyone assembled to take a picture! All of the dogs that were in attendance also got to be in the group picture!
What a fun weekend it was! A busy one, for sure, but I'll take that any time when it means we get to see so many family members on this wondrous occasion!
